Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 15, 2026
1. Introduction
Kidoglow ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Kidoglow platform, which includes the marketing website at kidoglow.com, the parent dashboard at my.kidoglow.com, and the kids app at kids.kidoglow.com (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our Services.
Operator: Kidoglow is operated by Kidoglow. For privacy inquiries, you can reach us at [email protected].
By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
2. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. Password-based authentication is processed and stored securely by our authentication provider — we do not store plaintext passwords. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
- Child profiles: Parents create profiles for their children, which may include the child's first name (or nickname), age, and avatar selection.
- Usage preferences: Screen time limits, content preferences, and dashboard settings you configure.
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and browser data: Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns within the Services.
- Error and performance data: Crash reports and performance metrics collected through our error tracking service to improve reliability.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Authenticate users and manage account access across our apps.
- Enable parental controls, screen time management, and progress tracking.
- Send important service communications (e.g., security alerts, account changes).
- Monitor for and prevent abuse or unauthorized access.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Children's Privacy
We take children's privacy seriously. Kidoglow is designed so that parents maintain meaningful control over their children's experience. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and limit our collection of children's data to what is reasonably necessary to provide the Services.
Parental Consent
Only parents or legal guardians can create Kidoglow accounts. Child profiles are created exclusively by authenticated parent accounts. Children cannot create accounts, sign up, or provide personal information independently. By creating a child profile, the parent or guardian provides consent for us to collect and use the child's information as described in this policy.
What We Collect from Children
- Profile information: First name or nickname, age, and avatar selection — provided by the parent.
- Usage data: Activity within the kids app (e.g., features used, progress) to support parental oversight and improve the experience.
- Technical data: The kids app may collect standard server-side information such as IP addresses and session identifiers as part of normal operation. This data is not used to profile or advertise to children.
How We Protect Children's Data
- No advertising: We do not display ads to children or use children's data for advertising or behavioral profiling.
- No third-party advertising or profiling: The kids app does not include third-party advertising networks, behavioral analytics, or tracking tools that build profiles of children. Infrastructure services (hosting, authentication, error monitoring) may process technical data as part of delivering the service.
- No public interactions: Children cannot post content publicly, send messages, or interact with other users through the kids app.
Parents' Rights
As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review the personal information we have collected from your child.
- Request that we delete your child's personal information.
- Refuse further collection or use of your child's information by deleting their profile through the parent dashboard or by contacting us.
To exercise these rights, you can manage child profiles directly in the parent dashboard at my.kidoglow.com or contact us at [email protected].
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share children's information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted service providers for hosting and infrastructure, authentication processing, error monitoring, and email delivery. These providers only access data as needed to perform their services and are contractually obligated to protect it.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
- Safety: We may share information when we believe it is necessary to protect the safety of our users, the public, or Kidoglow.
- Business transfers: If Kidoglow is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use cookies and browser local storage for essential functions only:
- Authentication cookies: To keep you signed in and manage your session securely across our apps.
- Security tokens: To prevent cross-site request forgery and protect your account.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the Services.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication through a dedicated auth provider, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
8. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information from active systems within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups or security logs for a limited additional period as required for operational or legal purposes, after which it is permanently removed.
9. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and update: You can access and update your account information at any time through the parent dashboard.
- Delete your account: You may request account deletion by contacting us. This will also delete associated child profiles.
- Withdraw consent: If you signed in with Google, you can revoke Kidoglow's access through your Google account settings.
10. Third-Party Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies. When you use Google Sign-In, Google's own privacy policy governs the data Google collects.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
